Why Routine Exams Are Important

We offer everything from standard vision screenings to comprehensive eye exams. Each eye exam will include a variety of tests based on your particular vision needs to gauge your eye and overall health.

Regardless of how good your vision may be, you should still visit our optometrist regularly. In most cases, patients should visit approximately every one to two years—and perhaps more often if they wear contact lenses or have health issues than can affect eyesight, like diabetes. We will let you know how often you should come in based on your particular situation.

During your next eye exam, we can quickly and accurately diagnose any eye infections or problems to provide the right treatment. Along with checking for various eye diseases, we can also detect early signs of certain common diseases, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cardiovascular diseases, and more.

Most comprehensive eye exams will combine different tests to determine the type and source of the problem. The most common eye tests we utilize include the following:

  • Retinoscopy
  • Refraction
  • Autorefractors and aberrometers
  • Cover test
  • Slit-lamp exam
  • Glaucoma testing
  • Pupil dilation
